One of the main features of Limefitt Park is Trout Beck itself. With its source high in the peaks of the nearby High Street range, the crystal clear waters run off the fells descending nearly 2000 feet and flowing for around seven miles down into Windermere. As the river is a trout fishery, not surprisingly many types of birds such as herons and kingfishers can be seen fishing along the beck. The main focal point of Limefitt Park is The Haybarn. Until recent times Limefitt was a working Lakeland sheep farm and the old hay barn itself was turned into The Haybarn Inn. You can enjoy a selection of hand-pulled real ales such as Cumberland Ale. A range of hearty meals can also be ordered. Outside the beer garden has stunning views of the area and is a sheer delight to sit out in on a nice evening.
