About the park / location

Heron Lakes is a low density, 4 star graded luxury lodge park situated in the village of Routh near the historic town of Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire.  The Park is open all year round.  This exclusive gated development is nestled in 75 acres of mature, open parkland and woodlands.  As you enter the Park you will be met by glorious views of the lakes and woodlands and you will immediately notice the immaculately maintained grounds and the generously spaced lodges which blend into the idyllic surroundings.  The Park has been sympathetically designed to support and encourage many species of wildlife.  There a number of scenic walking paths which offer panoramic views of some lovely woodland and countryside landscapes.  There are two coarse fishing lakes, a trout lake and a boating lake all of which attract a great variety of bird life.  A cycling path is located right outside the entrance to the Park and allows you to safely ride to the local shops and pub, countryside or into Beverley and beyond.  There is an excellent local bus service with routes to Hull, Hornsea and York, passing through some lovely villages.  Beverley itself is a bustling market town with many independent shops, cafes and restaurants.  It is famous for its awe inspiring 13th Century Gothic minster, racecourse and its thriving Wednesday and Saturday markets.  The beautiful city of York is within a reasonable drive, as are the Yorkshire Wolds with charming villages and towns.   The East Yorkshire coast is studded with tiny, picturesque villages and family friendly seaside resorts, such as Hornsea, Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough, and the jewel in the crown-Whitby.  The historic houses of Burton Constable, Burton Agnes, Sewerby Hall, Castle Howard and many more are all nearby.  The RSPB’s largest seabird colony at Bempton Cliffs is a short drive away.
